This site is an interactive web based presentation for GovSec 2016, with a focus on threats and analytics, and the lessons we are learning from big data. This data can tell a story, and we all like to hear about the advanced threats, or targeted nation state attacks like it’s a spy movie. It’s exciting. It’s mysterious. But for the people working for goverment facilities, this story is a very real threat, and just one of a list of things they have to account for each and every day. For this session I hope to challenge you to make your security architecture produce actionable information, not just collect it. Incorporating data pipes to things like machine learning sound hopeful, but let’s make sure we understand what this really offers those of us in the security realm. It’s not ‘if’ you are going to be leveraging deeper analytics with automation, it’s that you have to if you want to keep ahead of advanced threats.
